FAQ

Portals Christian Hall students to think deeply and live faithfully through a biblical worldview and the Oxford tutorial method. If you still have questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

What makes Portals Christian Hall different than traditional higher education?

Portals Christian Hall offers a refreshing alternative to traditional higher education by uniting rigorous academics with intentional discipleship and mentorship. Instead of solely learning through large lecture halls and impersonal instruction, students learn in small, discussion-based tutorials led by dedicated tutors who guide both their intellectual and spiritual growth. Every course is grounded in a biblical worldview, helping students connect faith with every area of study. With an emphasis on wisdom, virtue, and real-life application, Portals University desires to cultivate not only scholars but faithful leaders prepared to serve Christ in every calling

What is a tutorial?

A tutorial is a regular meeting of students with a tutor who guides their learning through discussion, questioning, and critical feedback. Unlike traditional lectures where students passively receive information, tutorials require active engagement from every participant resulting in a whole-person, purposeful education. Learn more about tutorials here.

Do I attend classes online or in person?

All classes are completed online, allowing students to complete readings and assignments from anywhere. However, students also meet regularly in small, in-person tutorials with their tutor and peers where they engage in thoughtful discussion, receive personalized feedback, and explore how their learning connects to faith and life. This hybrid approach not only builds academic knowledge but also nurtures wisdom, character, and a Christ-centered worldview, helping students grow as thoughtful, faithful leaders.

Are your programs accredited?

Yes! Portals Christian Hall students receive a fully-accredited, post secondary education through our partner university, Southeastern University.
